David Robert King has shared the stage with Grammy winners and music legends including Josh Ritter, Loudon Wainwright III, Darrell Scott, Over the Rhine, and Don Henry. In 2010, his debut E.P. "Take Me Home" was in the top 40 on the Folk Music Charts. In 2011 he released the full-length album “Midnight in Gloryland” to fan and critical acclaim before disappearing into the coastal northeast. In the summer of 2015 David was lured from hiatus by an invitation to the stage of the legendary Bluebird Cafe in Nashville, TN. When he is not singing or writing songs, he can be found teaching at a high school in Decatur, GA.
Well-known among songwriter circles in Nashville, Travis is an unforgettable performer. He is an open wound, the rawness of his words and his vocals pulling you into his world. A Mississippi childhood, learning to drink his coffee black in dives off the highway, his battles with cancer, alcohol, drugs, God and demons, and all the characters along the way.
Signed to Kobalt Music Publishing, Travis’ songs have recently been recorded by Ronnie Dunn, Dierks Bentley, Levi Lowery, Eric Church, Blackberry Smoke, Adam Brand, Peter Fox of Go West and his most recent hit “What We Ain’t Got” by Jake Owen. See below for the official music video featuring Travis in a moving interpretation of the song.

"Just one of the highlights from the outstanding Tangled Country, a collection of often sad but still hopeful songs, 'Same Old' mines some of the territory of Gillian Welch and David Rawlings, with lilting banjo, gorgeous harmonies and tasteful pedal steel, and exemplifies this duo's simple yet beautiful music." —FREDDY JENKINS, FOR NPR MUSIC'S FAVORITE SONGS OF 2015
